Orbitz.com FAKE

I bought a plane ticket in August to travel to Virginia. When I got my credit card statement for the month of December, I saw a charge from a company called Reservation Rewards. I have never heard of this company and I called them and they said they got my credit card info thru Orbitz when I purchased my ticket.

I never authorized anyone to charge me for Reservation Rewards as I do not even know what they do. The rep then told me they had also charged my credit card for for January (I have not received the statement yet) and had set me up to be billed every month. I was very upset to say the least. All I authorized Orbitz to charge me for was the plane ticket – I did not purchase any other service.

I don’t know if Orbitz sold my credit card information to this company or how they got it but I told them to reverse the charges and they said they would. I spent 30 minutes on the phone to get it straighted out.

I think this is very unethical for Orbitz to sell your credit card information or maybe this company is part of Orbitz, I don’t know. I called Orbitz customer service but of course their call center is in Central America and I got some guy that barely spoke English. I just hung up and decided to voice my complaint here.

I will never use Orbitz again and would advise others to do the same. What a scam!!

I booked tickets online for a friend at Orbitz they charged his account twice and then refused to call the bank to have the money released.

I spoke with a customer service representive “Meg” whom claimed to have faxed the report.

My friends bank informed him that the report was not sent, I called Orbitz only to be told that “Meg” does not exsists.

I spoke with five different customer agents two being supervisors, they would only offer me a voucher to another trip as if I would book on that website again.

I was on the phone with them from 4pm until after 9pm. No one seemed to care that the account was over drawn due to a glitch on their website.

I’ve been using Orbitz for more than 5 years now and today i’m very upset. I booked a continental flight through orbitz. I believed they have the best price so i didnt bother to check price on continental’s site. Later on i found out that orbitz offered me the same price for the same flight as on continental’s official website. I just paid for nothing. I think this is unacceptable cuz if they have the price assurance thing and the purpose of their site is to find ppl the “LOWEST FARE”, then i should be paying lower price (includes taxes and fees) than what the official site offers.

DO NOT TRUST ORBITZ WITH YOUR CREDIT CARD INFORMATION!!! I purchased a round trip airline ticket to San Antonio TX from Charleston WV by using Orbitz online. They are a large and well known company and I figured there would be no problem. I could not have been more wrong. I gave them my credit card information. On the very next credit card statement there were nine (9) charges for airline tickets all over the world!!!!!!…. mainly the Middle East. (I am not Middle Eastern nor do I personally know anyone who is) They (or someone they shared my credit card info with) completely tapped a ,000.00 credit limit and tried to do more before they were stopped my the credit card company. Thank God it wasn’t my debit card. When I called Orbitz they said “oh you will have to call the airlines direct”… “we didn’t run those charges through… the airline did”. I had to have the credit card cancelled and filed a dispute. Then I did a litlle research and discovered this happens all the time. There are hundreds of complaints out there on the web and it sounds like the same routine all the time. ****BEWARE***** Think long and hard before sharing your credit card information with ORBITZ. You could be very sorry you did.

On 8/9/10 I went to Orbitz.com to shop for reasonable hotel reservations. Since Orbiz banner ads om many websites state that they have Hotel Price Assurance and lowest price guarantee, I used them for the first time. I found a hotel that was located in the city I was traveling to and found a rate of 4.30 for a Wingate by Wyndham. I booked with my credit card as per the site and printed out my reciept. I stayed at hotel as reserved and in the morning the hotel placed a express check out receipt under my door, showing total room charges to be only .48, including all taxes. The room rate was actually only .86. This means that anyone lese could have booked this room for .48 with taxes but ORBITZ.com charged me 4.30 to my card. Thats a fee of .82 to ORBITZ just for using their website. How is this saving anyone money? I contacted ORBITZ and the sales represenative apologized for the high fee and after speaking with a supervisor they only offered to send me a ORBITZ voucher for .82 of ORBITZ CREDIT. I feel as though I have been taken advantage of and gouged on fees and left with a silly voucher. I have fled a dispute with my credit card company for the difference. Am I not being reasonable? Was this a justifable charge just for using their site? I looked over all my printed pages and receipts from ORBITZ and there are no disclosure staements that state anything about how much their fee is period , no % or anything in writing. My guess is that millions of consumers are falling into the same preying hads of ORBITZ, only to be taken for a real ride.
